National “Get Organized” Month has been around since 2005 thanks to the National Association of Professional Organizers – www.napo.net. The organization is dedicated to helping individuals and businesses bring order and efficiency to their lives.
Research shows that people waste as much as an hour a day, on average, looking for things they’ve misplaced. That means that many of us waste as much as 15 days every year because of disorganization. So, it clearly pays to get organized because time is the one commodity none of us can recover.
Start with something as simple as a closet and easily move toward a more organized, healthier, happier life in your clutter-free home.
The best way I have found to empty my bedroom closet painlessly, is to hang everything with the hanger hook backwards on the rod at the beginning of the season. At the end of the season if it is still backwards, off it goes to the thrift shop.
Times change, seasons change and ideas change, so what we store and how we store it should change accordingly. Having a simple, yet flexible organization system is very important.
You are quite capable of getting yourself organized, all you have to do is decide to do it. Once you see what benefits you’ll derive from being more organized, you can choose the next area in your life to tackle next.
